Firstly, we want to say a Huge CONGRATULATIONS to every single womxn who submitted their music to GETHEARD FUTURE HITMAKER COMPETITON this year! We had over 600 submissions we made sure GETHEARD. The level of talent the whole panel heard this year was amazing, which made it nearly impossible to only pick 3 winners!!
The atmosphere at the Live Finale on Saturday was amazing and supportive of each – it was inspiring to see so many young womxn creatives in one room championing each other.. This is the core of Girls I Rate.
Our Head of A&R, Carla Marie, and our panel of Jodeci Chin (VEVO), Lloyd Murray (RELENTLESS), Shauni Caballero (SONY MUSIC PUBLISHING) & Jaqueline Pelham-Leigh and host Ellie Prohan, had the hard job of whittle down the top 10 to feedback to on the day which was realistic, encouraging and insightful on how A&R’s think. We rounded off the celebrations with an amazing performance form one of our 2021 GETHEARD FUTURE HITMAKER COMPETITION winners, Ariez Baby, as well as open mic performances from amazing womxn who attended the event.
