  • URBAN DEVELOPMENT PANEL

GIRLS I RATE aim to give a voice to issues surrounding equality and imbalance and create a platform for conversation by regularly engaging in industry panels and takeovers. Through a network of influential trustees and advocates, GIR are able to bring important topics to the forefront of industry discussions and debates, empowering females, whilst encouraging unity and change.

In October 2016, GIR teamed up with East London-based music development organisation, Urban Development, to host an exciting panel lined up with some of the music industry’s most inspiring and influential women. The panel titled “Who Runs the World? Girls!” was be chaired by BBC journalist, Colleen Harrison, who was joined by official panellists Jamelia Scott (A&R Manager, Method Music), Paigey Cakey (Artist), Vick Bain (CEO, BASCA), Leila Singh (Eskimo Dance) and GIR’s very own, Carla-Marie Williams.
