“WHEN WOMEN SUPPORT EACH OTHER, INCREDIBLE THINGS HAPPEN!”
GIRLS I RATE was founded by Carla Marie Williams, a Grammy Award nominated, A-list songwriter to a role-call of artists, including Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Naughty Boy, Craig David and Girls Aloud.
Experiencing first hand the imbalance and equality within a very male dominated music industry, Carla was compelled to create a movement that provides females with a voice and platform. Her mission is to unite females though GIR and create a stronger female presence within the creative industries.
Carla began by contacting 10 women whom she rated for their achievements, to a sit down at a round table dinner. They then decided to create ‘the nominations’ which led to each woman nominating two women they rated. The process continued until she reached her goal – a network of 100 powerful and influential women who wanted to support and advocate for change. These women came together on International Women’s Day 2016 and laid the foundations of the GIRLS I RATE movement.
