WHO WE ARE:
Founded in 2016 by Grammy award-winning songwriter, Carla Marie Williams, Girls I Rate are a non-profit organisation striving to celebrate, empower and advocate for girls and young women in the music and other creative industries. We push for gender equality and opportunities for women in the music & creative industries.
JOB SUMMARY:
To engage a creative director/coordinator on all aspects relating to shoots and project direction. This is a 12-month contract of a minimum of 3hrs a week and the hours will increase based upon the bundle of projects the company is working on.
We are looking for 2 people:
1 x person with minimum 2 years experience (paid)
1 x intern (work experience but must have vision and key skills sets)
Responsibilities include:
- Scouting for creatives & talent (including directors, stylists, hair stylists, make-up artists, photographers, videographers, etc.)
- Creating mood boards
- Creating Spotify and YouTube playlists
- Attending photo and video shoots
- Directly supporting our creatives and artists
- Coordinator & Schedule meetings and shoots
- Creating creative briefs & brand guidelines
- Understands GIR brand & style
- Managing & co-ordinating & arranging multiple shoots
- Managing multiple creatives across various projects
Must be able to use:
- Dropbox
- Microsoft packages
- Canva
- TikTok
- Reels

- You’re able to work on a part-time basis
- You’re able to work remotely
- You have a good understanding of the female music & creative spaces, particularly black creatives
- You’re creative & use initiative and have fresh ideas
- You’re able to look at a project holistically
- You have an impressive work ethic and great communication
- You’re confident with digital platforms
- You’re highly organised
